I Hate Spam takes a more traditional approach, it adds a Spam Toolbar and folder to your Email program. All email is first downloaded then it is filtered. Spam Arrest is different again, it is a subscription service rather than a program that you install on your computer, it uses a patented system to verify all email addressed to you, only contacts that have been sucessfully verified will reach your mailbox.
In summary, if you want 'Hands On' try Mail Washer Pro, if you want less 'Hands On' try I Hate Spam , if you want virtually 'No Hands On' then Spam Arrest is for you.
